Mason Construction Company specializes in new homes and small offices,
renovations/additions and historical preservation.  Whether we are building a
10,000 square foot home or a 1,000 square foot addition, we give every client the
same level of attention and meticulous management.  We staff each project with a
working site supervisor and a project coordinator.  

We define our site supervisors as "working" because all of our supervisors are
willing to put their tool belts on and work along side with our employees and
subcontractors.  Our project coordinator is responsible for estimates, schedules,
selections, material and purchase orders.  They work with architects and clients to
maintain excellent relationships and provide support throughout the construction
process.  They are also expected to attend all pre-bid meetings as well as to
prepare, revise, and update job schedules, selections and budgets as necessary.  
Additionally, they are responsible for keeping the company management team
informed of project status on a regular basis.

How We Run Our Projects

Upon meeting our clients, we give them a very detailed bid labeling all divisions of
the home construction and the costs affiliated with each division.  We work hard
from the very beginning being open and honest with our costs.  We are not the
type of builder that will give a low estimate to get the contract signed and then hit
our clients with change orders.  Our motto is "if it is on the drawings, then it was
budgeted in our estimate."  We give flexible pricing that begins with a base price
and then is followed by allowances which allows the client to customize the job to
fit their financial goals.  

Our contract documents follow all AIA requirements as well as what is legally
required for Maryland Homebuilders and have been carefully drawn up by a
construction legal team.  Once we have been awarded the project and documents
are signed, we coordinate with your financial institution on payment draw schedules
based on phases of construction.

Once those items are completed, we set our clients/archtiects up with a log-in and
password to our website where they will find their virtual project notebook
containing estimates, contracts, subcontractor proposals, photos, selections,
client/architect/builder questions, comments and e-mail updates.  We take pride in
the way we communicate with our clients and architects and make every effort to
keep that line of communication very clear and open.  We feel this is the most
important aspect of making a project run very smoothly.   We then post a sign
along with a company brochure at the client's property making sure all of contact
information is clearly visible.  When working in tight conditions we also send
postcards out to neighbors pardoning our mess and asking your neighbors to
please contact us if any concerns should arise.  Our goal is to make this process as
smooth as possible and we feel the homeowner should not have to deal with
neighbors regarding construction concerns and it also keeps Mason Construction
Company accountable for our staff and subcontractors by spreading our name
around your community.  We must be responsible in order to uphold our
reputation!

We keep our projects very clean and all of our staff members and subcontractors
are very aware of our strict policy for up keeping a professional manner while on
site.  We welcome our clients to bring their friends and family to the job on
weekends.  When you come out to your project always expect to find your job
free of trash with a clean set of drawings, and an updated schedule posted.  We
sell our company on the weekend to your friends and family.  Our projects are our
showroom and our clients should expect nothing less.

Throughout the project, expect to have job site meeting approximately every 2
weeks with the builder, architect and client to discuss the progress, budget reports
and selections.  Not only is high quality construction our main focus but so is
maintaining a strong relationship with our clients and architects.  

Upon completion, our clients receive a homeowners manual with all warranty and
product information of items used in their home.  We schedule a one year
anniversary walk thru to discuss and repair any concerns and provide paint
touch-ups.  We want your home to look the same in 20 years as it did the day you
moved in.  We also send seasonal care instructions for your home reminding you of
things such as; having your HVAC systems serviced or having the chimney
cleaned.  Our clients are also given the opportunity to be a part of our home
maintenance program for items not covered under our warranty and any other
work they may want completed around the home in the future.

As part of our goal of being the "total package" for our clients, we also have a
licensed Realtor on our team to assist our clients in finding a home site and/or
selling their current home.
